The Low Anthem release new album eyeland! this week (17 June), before playing UK dates at London’s Borderline (11 July) and Glasgow’s Broadcast (13). Here’s the band’s Ben Knox Miller.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Well then. I am casting a film of my life? What a strange scenario. I took a crowbar to the hippocampus as a toddler and ever since can only sit thru feature length sports documentaries. So I would say either Dennis Rodman or the lady from Twilight. I asked my bandmate Jeff Prystowsky who is sitting with me and he suggested moving on to the next question. “This is not your strong suit,” he tells me…
WHAT are you currently working on?
While my attorney insists that I not discuss the schematics in a public forum such as this, it is a drum machine.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Why not? Sometimes I try not to, but I then find myself doing the not doing of it. It’s a karma trap. A real puzzle.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Whereas it is good and proper to have goals, I expect 10 years from now I will still be skating after the puck. Life is a mystery and below the ice many a plump trout.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
When Monsanto’s patents enter the public domain. When resources are distributed justly and surviving civilizations ditch the profit motive. A shift in global consciousness is needed. When people learn to grow food and recognize the moral imperative that affordable access to quality food is a human right the world will have it’s harvest.
