Having released her latest album All Love’s Legal in a blaze of mysterious neon earlier this year, Bolton-born, Berlin-based Jam Rostron aims to “unseat all norms” as Planningtorock. Here’s what she did with our five sturdy posers…
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
I always find this question weird but I’ll give it a go… I’m a huge Melissa McCarthy fan since watching The Heat and a trailer for her next movie (which she co-wrote) Tammy. So my dream choice would be Melissa McCarthy.
WHAT are you currently working on?
I’ve just returned from our first European tour and now I’m back in the studio making a remix for Trust. I’m also working on a soundtrack I was commissioned to write for an animation by Marjane Satrapi who made the Oscar nominated animation movie Persepolis.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
Music has long been my favourite language and making music makes me happy and helps me grow. It’s also one of the few fields out there that doesn’t require validation from any institute or authority. Anybody can have a go which is pretty special.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
I’d love to work more in film and TV. Maybe start writing a fun queer tv series? Also I’d like to be producing other artists more.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
The end of discrimination would be a good start.
