Australian trio RÜFÜS are set to release their debut album ATLAS in the UK on 28 April. It’s already been Number One in their own country, so group’s Tyrone Lindqvist has answered a few choice questions so we know what to expect.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Gary Busey (Point Break era). The guys say I have a case of early onset Busey happening to me right now…
WHAT are you currently working on?
Reinterpreting our music to put together a very different new live show for our next tour. We’re constantly evolving as people, so we like our music to evolve with us in a live sense. We’re touring the UK with Cut Copy, so trying to work on a new show for those dates.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
I grew up in the middle of nowhere, outside an opal mining town called Lightning Ridge in the Australian desert. There were no kids around so I used to play piano and guitar to amuse myself.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
Have you seen Her, with Joaquin Phoenix? Surely we’ll all be dating super cute virtual guys and girls that don’t really exist. I’d also like to start a Mexican food francise, but that’s a secret.
WHEN will there be a harvest for the world?
Hopefully after we have released a couple more albums and I have started a mexican food franchise.
