Kicking off a UK tour next week (29 May) Howling Bells return with their fourth album, Heartstrings, on 2 June. To reacquaint us all, frontwoman Juanita Stein has answered five questions for us.
WHO would play you in the film of your life?
Ideally Ali McGraw, Faye Dunnaway or Claudia Cardinale. All from the 70s of course. They all represent qualities I relate to as modern, complex woman. Tenderness, brashness and sultriness.
WHAT are you currently working on?
We’ve recently finished a new album, Heartstrings, so the coming months will see a campaign unfolding for that. There’ll be a UK tour in May and June, so back to the rehearsal room to relearn all the songs.
WHY do you do that thing you do?
I’m mostly unaware that I do it. But occasionally in a flurry of passion or anguish someone may bring it to my attention and I’ll momentarily dwell on it. Then it’s done. We are who we are.
WHERE do you see yourself in ten years?
On a beach, with my family, smiling with the contentment and knowing of someone who’s living their dreams out loud.
