Adding an Italian twist to the classic European Festival experience, the new Umbria Rock Festival takes place 1-3 August. To tempt you on a late European getaway, organiser Yashant Bajaj has made Q a Playlist of his personal picks from the bill.

Paul Weller – Sunflower

“This juggernaut of a track by The Modfather is a modern classic that we’d like to become synonymous with the inaugural Umbria Rock festival.”

“This iconic anthem from The Charlatans, and I’ve no doubt that their set will help launch Umbria Rock!”

“Though tempted with Sit Down (which will blow everyone’s minds) – James also has an amazing new album out, and I’m looking forward to hearing some of this material live, as well as this classic.”

Basement Jaxx – Good Luck

Re-TROS – If The Monkeys Becomes To Be The King

“As well as featuring some of the biggest bands in the world, it is important to us to showcase some international talent, which is why we Re-TROS, a Chinese band that are huge in their native land and make a unique and interesting sound.”

“Its also well worth catching some of the up and coming talent on the bill. I can’t wait to see Jason Riddell do this one as he is an awesome live performer.”
