Lovebox 2014 kicks off today (18 July) in London’s Victoria Park. To give you a guide of what to expect across the the weekend, the festival’s Jools Butterfield has made us a Playlist featuring some of his personal highlights.

Soul II Soul – Happiness (Dub)

“Jazzie B and Soul II Soul created a sound and vibe so unique and soulful that to this day can still fill a dance floor and rock any festival crowd. We are proud to have this legendary band back to grace the lovebox stage with their stately grooves.”

M.I.A – Paper Planes

“Great to have such a unique and uncompromising talent to headline the Saturday show! This tune encompasses her signature hip-hop, electronica, and bangra fusion. She remains one of the UK’s most exciting and experimental artists and her show is sure to be a fantastic spectacle.”

Katy B – Lights On

Back for a second time Katy b is a mercury nominated artist who describes herself as an R&B, Dubstep, funky, house and garage singer.

With her catalogue of dance and pop anthems she is a must see at this years festival

Chase & Status- Count On Ne (ft Moko)

“This tune explains why this band have become one of the UK’s best festival acts. They have such incredible energy and explosive stage presence. Lovebox is a dance festival and these guys will not fail to please and will have everyone dancing with their hands in the air!”

Maverick Sabre – Let Me Go

“With his unique stellar vocals and incredible writing talent this hackney born boy is going to be a real star at this years festival. Having toured with Chase & Status and performed guest vocals on countless artists tracks this is his time to take centre stage and shine.”

Kiesza – Hideaway

“Lovebox isn’t just about the main stage and the big super well known acts. We also like to give a platform to up and coming fresh new artists, this is our aim with Annie Mac Presents Arena. Watch this space Kiesza is on the way to super stardom you saw her here first.”

Nas – Life’s A Bitch

“We are humbled to have such a legend grace the Lovebox stage this year. Nas is to perform illmatic often refered to as one hip hops greatest ever albums. It remains to this day a true masterpiece. Nas is a poet, storyteller and brutally candid rapper. Expect to be blown away we will be in the presence of a true genius.”

Banks – Warm water

Bonobo – Cirrus
