Currently working his way through a colossal world tour, Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ Another Girl live for the first time ever at Tokyo’s Budokan theatre, 49 years after the Fab Four performed at the same venue. Watch fan footage now, while McCartney’s UK dates kick off in May.
Everything Everything – who announced they’re judging and mentoring the Reading & Leeds Festivals’ new talent contest this year – revealed a brand new single Regret, this week. It’s taken from the band’s forthcoming album Get To Heaven.
Having recently released their sixth studio album The Day Is My Enemy, The Prodigy are currently on a tour that includes a headline slot at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival. However, this week the band have suggested that their retirement could come in the not too distant future… Nobody say “reunion tour” just yet…
Rudimental debuted new song Never Let You Go this week, the first track taken from their forthcoming second album. It’s due out in the summer and will tie in with a host of festival slots, including their own Wildlife event at Brighton Airport.
This week saw a couple of musical farewells. Firstly, The Kingsmen’s original vocalist Jack Ely – who’s howling vocals defined the band’s 1963 version of Louie Louie – passed away aged 71.
Also leaving us was Ben E King, The Drifters singer who went on to co-write and record the glorious cultural keystone that is Stand By Me, who died yesterday aged 76.

When he’s not portraying younger versions of music icons such as Snoop Dogg and Miles Davis on the silver scree, Keith Stanfield raps in a hip hop outfit – Moors – with producer HH. The pair released their debut EP earlier in the year, and this week they’ve unveiled the arty music video for Gas: a socio-conscious gem that takes us on a journey through the sound of West Coast Hip-Hop.
