Oslo’s Øya Festival returns this summer between 9-13 August. To guide us through the bill to Norway’s premier festival booker Claes Olsen has made us a playlist with some personal pics from the line-up. “For 2016 to the festival will be returning Oslo’s stunning Tøyenparken city park,” he explains. “The unique festival boasts an enviable billing of some of the world’s greatest and most diverse musical talent, set in breathtaking surroundings. The festival has a capacity of just 17,000, creating an atmosphere described by previous attendees as ‘truly egalitarian’ and a ‘utopia’.” Indeed…

Highasakite – Someone Who`ll Get It

“They have gone the grades at Øya and are now ready for the headline slot. This is the first single from their new album which comes out worldwide in May. The previous album has been in the top 40 album charts in Norway for 107 weeks now!”

PJ Harvey – Sheila-Na-Gig (pictured)

“One of my favorite artists of all time. Have tried to book her since we started Øya, finally we made it. Please don´t call me during her headline set!”
