Fresh off winning BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 award, fast-rising Brits the Last Dinner Party are returning to North America for a full tour, the quintet announced on Jan. 22.
The group played a series of mid-sized theaters in the States during its first short American tour last fall, and are already booked to appear at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April. The BBC Radio 1 honor was the second industry award the group has received in its homeland over the past several months, having also picked up the Rising Star Brit Award in December. No bad for a band that was formed in 2021, and whose debut full-length is still several weeks away from release.
The Last Dinner Party’s U.S. tour begins in Mexico City on March 19, and wraps up in Salt Lake City in August, with Miss Grit in support.
“North America Dinner Guests!!! We are thrilled to unveil that we will be gracing your beauteous towns and charming cities from March, with support from @miss_grit,” the group posted on Instagram.
Signing to Island Records in 2022, the group played as the opening act for the Rolling Stones’ concert in Hyde Park that same year. Last year they toured with Florence + The Machine, as well as supporting Lana Del Rey. Debut single “Nothing Matters” was released in April 2023 and reached No. 16 on the UK charts.
The quintet’s debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy, is due on February 2 and is already being hailed as one of 2024’s hottest releases, including by Q, which recently named the LP among Q Staffers’ Most Anticipated Music of 2024. The group will also be part of this year’s BRITs Week for War Child benefit, in which they'll join the likes of Sleaford Mods, You Me At Six, Ash and Keane playing intimate gigs across the UK.
